WASHINGTON — Lawmakers investigating the deadly Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol formally presented their findings to the public for the first time Thursday night, just steps from the site of the failed attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election 17 months ago.

With the Wyoming primaries less than three months away, the Wyoming Truth caught up with political analyst J. Miles Coleman for his insights on the upcoming U.S. House of Representatives race, in which Trump-backed Harriet Hageman, three other Republicans and three Democrats are seeking to unseat Rep. Liz Cheney.

Casper, Wyo. – For Joey Thompson, the most pressing issue for Wyoming voters in the upcoming midterm election is the struggling oil, gas and coal industry – a common sentiment expressed by other Donald Trump supporters at the Save America rally on Saturday.

Individuals from two giant investment companies based outside of Wyoming have contributed the most money to Rep. Liz Cheney’s re-election campaign, an analysis of federal records and other sources show.

Wyoming voters have not ousted a sitting governor for decades, and political experts say it’s unlikely that will change this election season. But how the governor navigates pressing issues for voters is another matter.

U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney is facing a crowded field of rivals eyeing her seat as she still wrestles with Trump’s political shadow, having recently defended her role in his impeachment and the investigation into the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

The law sets aside $2.1 million in coronavirus relief funds for around-the-clock suicide prevention services in a state that recorded the highest suicide rate in the nation in 2020.

The proposed funding would cover an around-the-clock call center.
