CHEYENNE, Wyo.--After a year in retirement, former Cheyenne East High School art teacher Dave Rowswell is returning to the classroom as a substitute teacher.

Demand for contracting services has been better than ever for business owner K.C. Murphy—up 75% to 100% in the past two years—but it’s come with a heavy price tag. In these inflationary times, the cost of supplies is eroding his profit margins while putting a dent in his clients’ wallets.

Members of the new gas and diesel price working group, along with an energy industry stakeholder, shared ideas for long-term solutions to Wyoming’s higher fuel prices Friday, with many stating there wasn’t much the group could do in the short term.

A solution to address Wyoming’s soaring gas prices is unclear, but energy industry stakeholders who spoke to a newly formed working group agreed about one thing: the need to increase supply.
